About
Sarah Lilius received first place in a local library contest judged by, then Poet Laureate of the United States, Robert Pinsky. She went on to graduate from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, with summa cum laude honors. She later worked towards an MFA poetry degree at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.Her first full-length poetry collection, Dirty Words, was published in 2021 (Indie Blu(e) Publishing, 2021). Her poetry chapbooks include, Song for PTSD (Blanket Sea Press, 2021), micro-chapbook, Traffic Girl, (Ghost City Press, 2020), Thirsty Bones (Blood Pudding Press, 2017), GIRL (dancing girl press, 2017), The Heart Factory (Black Cat Moon Press, 2016), and What Becomes Within (ELJ Publications, 2014). Lilius also co-authored the chapbook, Here, Hunger, with poet, Erin M. Bertram (NeoPepper Press, 2007).Her poems have appeared in Fourteen Hills, Stirring, Cider Press Review, Sonora Review, Kissing Dynamite, Slant, New South, The Massachusetts Review, Boulevard, Flapperhouse, Court Green, and Denver Quarterly. Originally from the Midwest, she lives in Virginia with her family.
